ChaVi is a self-taught visual artist based in Charlotte, NC. Her medium of choice is acrylic on canvas as she “loves the way the paint flows once touched by the brush and the life it breathes onto canvas”. Each of her paintings has its own unique meaning & story and is known for its reflective exploration of history, strong unique combinations of imagery, verse, and symbolism.
Statement
My artwork reflects my African heritage and connection to my culture. Each of my paintings is a significant vision sent from my ancestors expressing themselves through me. While I may create like images at times, each piece has its own unique meaning & story and is known for its reflective exploration of history, strong unique combinations of imagery, verse, and symbolism. My art is an infusion of Africa’s past, present, and future.
